Puempel Wins Again

PETERBOROUGH, ON – Ricky’s All Day Grill, in partnership with the Peterborough Petes, have announced Petes’ rookie forward Matt Puempel as the Ricky’s All Day Grill Petes Player of the Week for the week ending January 11th , 2010. For his accomplishments, Matt receives a gift certificate for Ricky’s All Day Grill.

Puempel, a native of Essex, ON, continues to climb up the scoring charts for both the Ontario Hockey League and the Petes in his rookie season. Drafted in the first round by the maroon and white, Matt had a lot of eyes on him entering this season as all of the fans expected big things from him. His play has not disappointed. In two games this past weekend, Puempel scored one goal and one assist after leading Team Ontario to a silver medal at the Under 17 Championship in Timmins, ON. Matt currently sits with a combined twenty-eight points which leaves him fifth on the team just six points behind newcomer Austin Watson who enters his first game as a member of the Petes with 34 points.
