PETERBOROUGH, ON – Ricky’s All Day Grill, in partnership with the Peterborough Petes, have announced Petes’ sophomore forward Ryan Spooner as the Ricky’s All Day Grill Petes Player of the Week for the week ending October 19th, 2009. For his accomplishments, Ryan receives a gift certificate from Ricky’s All Day Grill.
Spooner, a native of Kanata, ON, scored three goals and two assists to lead the team in scoring throughout the weekend. His five point effort was enough to bump him up to a tie for first place on the team with a total of eight assists to go along with his seven goals for a total of fifteen points. Ryan currently is tied with Petes’ veteran defenceman, Jamie Doornbosch. Spooner’s success comes with perfect timing with this being the year he becomes eligible for the NHL Entry Draft in June. Currently rated as a late first round pick by Central Scouting, Ryan will look to improve on his ranking by continuing his early success with the Petes.
