PETERBOROUGH, ON – Ricky’s All Day Grill, in partnership with the Peterborough Petes, have announced veteran forward Jack Walchessen as the Ricky’s All Day Grill Petes Player of the Week for the week ending December 21st, 2009. For his accomplishments Jack receives a gift certificate from Ricky’s All Day Grill.Walchessen, a native of Ortly Beach, NJ, a usual defensive rock, led the maroon and white offensively this past weekend, scoring two goals while remaining a +2 in the plus/minus rating in three games. With his strong start, both offensively and defensively, Jack is on pace to top his stats in each of his previous three seasons with the Petes. His play thus far has come alongside Joey West and newcomer Mike Lomas. Walchessen’s success comes on the heels of being named an Assistant Captain with the Peterborough Petes for the 2009-10 Ontario Hockey League season. His penalty killing efforts leaves him one of the maroon and white’s unsung heroes through the first half of the season.
